These are good suggestions, but what if the school board, district and principals bring in weak reform programs that are hurting our children's chances at getting into college at all? In Tualatin Oregon they brought in CPM math under the radar with little parent involvement. How can we fight for our kids with a group that needs to save face? See the debate at www.mathchoice.org

I think, that any student who attends high school can estimate his own level of intelligence. In any case, he can find a suitable college or hire private teachers to improve hi s level.
